Connecting Older Workers & Employers: Where are we & where do we go next?

Employers in Colorado continue to need workers. At the same time, the number of Coloradans aged 50+ and older and the number of older Coloradans looking for work are increasing. There are breakdowns in Colorado systems that connect education, training, job seekers, and employers.

In 2026, the Longevity Talent Report & Initiative (LTRI) heard from over 13,000 Coloradans aged 50 and over. Coloradans of all backgrounds reported months of job searching, even though many were open to career or industry change.  State data reinforces the challenges.

We have the frameworks in place to address these issues.

Let’s Review the Results Together

In three virtual sessions, we’ll review the results of the study, including:

  • what 50+ job seekers are asking for

  • what workforce centers and employers are doing now,

  • recommendations for pilot concepts to better connect older workers and employers in Colorado.
