Workforce Policy for Longer Lives
People are living longer. Many want or need to work longer, too. Yet much of our workforce system was designed around shorter working lives.
What does the system need to make it possible?
A career change at 55
A return to work after caregiving at 64
New skills for a changing job
Flexible work at 75
A clear place to start at any age
We connect experience, evidence, and action.
iAging brings older adults’ experiences, employer perspectives, workforce knowledge, and research into the same conversation to help identify what could work better. We work with policymakers, state and local agencies, nonprofits, employers, researchers, and community partners to identify solutions.
Policy innovation takes many forms.
It may be a new law. It may also be a better program, clearer data, a stronger employer partnership, or an easier path for a job seeker to find help.
What could work better? Let’s explore it.
